Arkt Labs Inc. ("we", "us", "our") operates WhispMe, a macOS voice-to-text application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

2. Audio Data

We do not store your audio recordings. Audio is sent to our server solely for transcription via the OpenAI Whisper API. Once transcription is complete, the audio file is immediately deleted from our servers. We do not listen to, review, or retain your recordings.

3. Transcribed Text

Transcribed text is returned directly to your device and inserted into the active text field. We do not store, log, or have access to the content of your transcriptions.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

OpenAI (Whisper API) — for audio-to-text transcription. Audio is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
Supabase — for user authentication and usage data storage. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Stripe — for payment processing. We do not store credit card numbers. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

5. Microphone Access

WhispMe requires microphone access to record your voice for transcription. Recording only occurs when you actively trigger it via the hotkey. The app does not record in the background or listen passively.

6. Accessibility Permissions

WhispMe requires Accessibility permissions on macOS to insert transcribed text into text fields in other applications. This permission is used solely for text insertion and for no other purpose.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
Authentication uses JWT tokens verified server-side
Credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain
Server access is protected by role-based access control

8. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app. Upon account deletion, all associated data (usage records, device registrations, subscription data) will be removed. Audio recordings are never retained.

9. Children's Privacy

WhispMe is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction or deletion of your data
Export your data in a portable format
Withdraw consent for data processing

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the application. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
